Fuel Perfect

How many carbs per hour do I need in a marathon, long ride or triathlon?

For efforts over about two and a half hours, most current guidance lands between 60 and 90 grams of carbs per hour, and trained athletes often go higher by mixing glucose and fructose. Your number depends on duration, intensity and what your gut is used to. Fuel Perfect works it out from those and shows the studies it used.

How much sodium should I take during a race?

It depends a lot on how much you sweat, how salty your sweat is and how hot it is. Pick a rough sweat profile or enter your numbers from a sweat test, and Fuel Perfect adjusts for the forecast at your race.

Which sports does it work for?

Running, cycling, gravel, triathlon, and trail or ultra events, plus long training sessions in any of them.

Swim Structured

Can I put a swim workout from my coach on my Apple Watch?

Yes. Paste the text into Swim Structured, check the preview and tap Send to Apple Watch. It shows up in the Workout app as a structured pool swim.

Does it work with Garmin?

Yes, through a .FIT file. The most reliable way to get it onto a Garmin watch as a structured workout is to upload the .FIT file in Garmin Connect on the web.

Why is there a big download the first time?

The app uses a language model that runs on your phone, so your workouts stay private. It downloads once, then everything works offline. Do it on Wi-Fi.

TrueWatt

Why doesn't my smart trainer match my power meter?

They measure in different places and are calibrated differently, so a few percent apart is normal. If you race on your power meter, training to the trainer's number means your zones are off. TrueWatt fixes that by controlling the trainer from your power meter.

Which trainers and power meters work?

Smart trainers that support the standard Bluetooth FTMS protocol, and Bluetooth power meters. You can also pair a Bluetooth heart rate strap.

Can I use my own structured workouts?

Yes. Import .zwo and .erg files from the Files app.

TriCoach

Where does TriCoach get my training data?

From Apple Health, Strava or intervals.icu, or from .fit, .gpx and .tcx files you share to it. It cleans up duplicates and wrong sport types first.

Can it send workouts to my Apple Watch?

Yes. Any session goes to Apple Watch as a structured workout, and bricks go as multisport.

Which race distances does it plan for?

Sprint, Olympic, half and full distance. Add one race or several.

LiveHeat

Does LiveHeat need my iPhone nearby?

No. It connects to the CORE sensor directly from Apple Watch.

Which sensor do I need?

A CORE body temperature sensor. For heart rate you can use a Bluetooth chest strap or your watch's own sensor.

What is heat training?

Training in the heat, or raising your core temperature on purpose indoors, so your body adapts before a hot race. Watching your core temp keeps those sessions in the useful range and out of the danger zone.
